Getdown Services - Crisps
'Crisps' is the album where it all began. For a while Getdown Services were Bristol's best kept secret, igniting dancefloors and pub floors across the city with their trademark blend of apocalyptic disco, proto-punk, new wave, krautrock and electro. But it was soon after the release of 'Crisps' in November 2023 that audiences got a full glimpse into the arcane, acrobatic minds of the powerful pair and their heaven-sent ability to conjure up seditious one-liners. Because their debut is packed full of them, from the masterclass of art-disco antipathy that is 'Cream Of The Crop' to the biting diatribe of 'Get Back Jamie', the band showcase a sharp wit that today still shows no danger of slowing down.
