Written while Langkamer were locked away in a rough little barn in lowland Netherlands, Red Thread Route is a classic ode to the road. Listening, you can hear the dichotomy of conception and completion. The push and pull of listlessness and restlessness. From 'Total Motion' to 'So Long Little Rock', its tracks talk of the distance of the highway, the exhaustion, the long drives, the listlessness, the moments you think 'what the hell am I doing here?' It's a small glimpse into one of the band's bittersweet transitional periods, as they move from endless drift and endless slumber in to some space in between.
